About FLARE
FLARE was created by Dr. Jimmy Turner (a triple Deac!) for the MS4 students at Wake Forest in 2020 to help improve financial literacy due to the impact that the stresses of personal finance can have on overall physician wellness.

Meet the FLARE Instructors

Dr. Jimmy Turner
Jimmy is the course director for FLARE, which he created in 2020 with the help of the Wake Forest medical students. He is also the author of The Physician Philosopher’s Guide to Personal Finance and a co-host to the Money Meets Medicine podcast.

Dr. Megan Ringle
Dr. Ringle is a neonatologist at Wake Forest and has passed her Series 65 exam. Dr. Ringle is also currently studying for her Certified Financial Planner exam, and gaining experience in the same field.

Dr. Lisha Taylor
Dr. Taylor is a sports medicine fellow at UCLA and graduate of Emory’s family medicine program. She is also a student loan guru. Dr. Taylor also has experience both in Washington helping form policy as well as some time training to work on Wall Street. Dr. Taylor also co-hosts Money Meets Medicine.
